"A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats"- JFK

Updated: Jan 22, 2020

My favorite quote is “A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats” because in my line of work I depend on so many people for a project to go right. If we all do our jobs correctly, we all have succeeded in something amazing. We all grew in experience, we all learned a lesson (or two), we all have an opportunity to receive a good review or referral allowing us to keep doing our jobs!

Why supporting other women in business (even your "competition") is so important to me

After being invited to a Instagram like/save contractor group (I had no idea what that even was, I was just honored to be included by someone whom I admired) I decided to curate my own group of women who own their own businesses in the Minneapolis metro area.

I wanted women who were authentic, hard working...people I wanted to support and see succeed! (I think in another life I would have done well as a business coach/developer) I wanted to do it out of genuine admiration, with no personal gain.

Instantly as a group we clicked and I knew I had chose the right women as that they were “the real deal” and not appearing one way on social and actually not what they seemed.

Sure you can go it alone, but I love being able to get advice and am humbled to give advice so mistakes I made can be avoided by others. I love how we share our post on each other’s insta stories, have real life work days together, refer friends and family, and use each other’s services/products...

This Christmas I made a point to shop local, and more so patronize the women in my group that offer a local product. I ordered socks from Lollidale, earrings and gift cards from Funky Fibers, Taylor Ellingson‘s new cookbook, Skin care from Santosha, and an adorable swimsuit for my nephew from Luliekids.

It meant so much to me to give those I love something created by women I knew. I was proud of these gifts. And these strong, talented women were supporting themselves, their families, and expanding their reach with another customer!

It was amazing to have 7 of the 17 members of the Wom(entrepreneur) Group at Galentine’s! A few of the ladies I met for the first time in real life and I have to say...they are even better in real life than their Instagram feeds!!!

Thank you for joining in and reading! I hope you got an insight into what we do, who we work with, the reality behind making old spaces new, and how awesome are clients are!
