Design Tip Tuesday: What a Paint Consult looks like...
I know that one time or another, you have struggled to find a paint color.
There are so many different options, and painting a swatch on the wall doesn’t always help with your decision. Did you know that Pinnacle Interior Designs offers paint consults? Here is what happens at a paint consult with Pinnacle.
First, we come over to your home and take a look at the spaces that you will be painting. We will ask you a few questions about the colors you like and do not like. For example, “Are you more of a tan or grey person?” or "Is there a color that you really can't stand?"
As we move throughout your space, we get to know more of what each room is used for, and we decide on a color that will be perfect for you.
Color can have a significant impact on how you feel in that specific space, that's why picking a color that fits the room is so important. For example, in a bathroom, we wouldn't recommend all-black walls, because you get ready in the bathroom so black would make the room very dark and gloomy.

In this before and after photo, the before picture seems very dark, but in the after photo with a new paint color, the room feels so much lighter and more inviting. Of course, to give some contrast, the black vanity, mirror, and fixtures were a perfect fit.
Not only do we do paint consults on the interior of the home, but we also do exterior paint consults along with helping choose a cabinetry color as well. Paint is a great way to make your space feel a bit more updated, and it is an easy fix.
There are many different things that come into play while trying to pick a color; undertones is a big one. When selecting a color, the undertones that are apparent can either make or break your choice. If you hate the color green and in that blue color, there's an undertone of green just a little bit, you will notice it forever. So finding a color that has nice undertones helps you love the color you chose even more.
Another great way to add some interest to one of your spaces is by adding wallpaper. When we look at your space, sometimes people will ask, or we recommend doing some kind of accent wall to create interest. Wallpaper is a great way to add interest. Doing wallpaper in powder rooms is very popular because it is a small space that sometimes just one wall color isn't enough.

In this powder room, adding the wallpaper on one wall gives the room a lot more interest and makes it a little bit more fun to look at. Another thing in this photo that provides more interest is adding wall tiles.
Deciding what paint colors and wall covering gets a whole lot easier with Pinnacle because we narrow down all the different colors to help you choose the right one for your space. Finding the best wall covering or paint solution can make a world of difference in your space.
