FIREPLACE MAKEOVER | Client Connection- Smith part 4
Updated: Jan 13, 2020
GET CAUGHT UP:
PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 The last part of my Portland, Oregon friend spec home remodel is focused on the living room. One major impact was the fireplace. Even though it had great scale and a very nice linear gas fireplace unit, it just was "blah." My client was lucky enough to enlist her father visiting from Colorado to demo the current tile and start tiling the large format faux Carrara marble tile we had selected. We had gone back and forth on whether to do faux marble or concrete and once we found a concrete coffee table she adored for the living room, I had my ammunition to dominate the faux marble agenda! Her dad got a far way into the project, but couldn't finish before his trip ended and the mountains of Colorado and his own new build in Erie, was calling him home. Miranda had to enlist a contractor friend to complete the job. We also made an adorable sitting nook and re-used her white comfy couch that she didn't want to part with.
