Living Room Reinvention- Bair part 2
My LOVE for lighting is so strong. I even made my brand’s hashtag #paintandlightguru because I focus so much and things that should be the firm basis of design... your color pallet and the way everything is lit up.
It’s not just for task or ambient... it can be a statement! I have written before about how upgrading lights can be a mini-remodel and is cost effective and has great return on investment.
So for the Bair’s main floor lighting remodel I wanted transitional design with a matte black finish.
I proposed two “safe” options and one mixed metal wild card. I wanted them to see what pushing their comfort zone would look like.
LIGHTING MOOD BOARD OPTIONS:

While we were selecting lights there was one clear front runner, but we wound up doing a combination of option 1 and 2. They wanted another option for the informal dining so we found one right away during the presentation.
The formal dining room chandelier from option 2 was the plan, but was on backorder when it was time to order. On top of that they were initially hesitant to pull the trigger because it was more spendy then they wanted, so the backorder sealed its fate.
I quick found a few alternatives and I got to ordering all the lights!
AND THE WINNER IS:

WINNER WINNER #lighting #matteblack #chandelier #moodboard #semiflushmount
Since my client’s son was home from college due to the Covid-19 closure he became the resident handyman. My clients thought it would keep him busy and bonus...save them money. Win-win!
He swapped out all lights and kitchen cabinet hardware!
We also did virtual consults to discuss height and light bulb selections. It was definitely strange to not be in client’s homes... but A few weeks later, it seems to be a new normal!
Install Day... aka putting your college son to work:)
