Little Bathroom with Big Style

When a referral landed me in New Brighton for an initial client consult I had my wheels turning right away!

The scope of work that was to be done in phases and the art and lifestyle the clients had/lead made me excited for where we could take the design of the spaces they wanted remodeled!

SCOPE- Phase 1- completed

•Living Room- new carpet, paint, furniture, staging

•Stairs- carpet runner Phase 2- completed

•Upstairs guest bath- remodel

•Master bath- remodel

Phase 3- future

•Kitchen- remodel

For today I am going to focus on their master bathroom remodel we completed this fall.

BEFORE

As you can easily see this bathroom leaves much to be desired.

The vanity was only 19” wide with two grown adults sharing it. The shower head was so short both the husband and wife had to duck to use it!

There was bad lighting, no exhaust fan, outdated tile... I could go on and on.

I took inspiration from their travels and love of adventure and the great outdoors. I wanted to give them a daily tropical getaway...even when it was -20 degrees outside!

We interviewed and clients chose Tschida Construction and after a lot of planning and ordering we got rolling!

A few keys design choices were the heated tile floors, which are especially cool because we created a river rock path from the shower floor to their master bedroom. They loved the idea and when it came back in their budget they decided why not?!?

Another bold choice was the paint color. Most people think small rooms can’t have darker colors, well this spaces proves that wrong! We balanced it out with white tile, glass doors, good lighting, and utilizing natural light.
