Mid-Century Modern Remodel | Client Connection- Croatt part 3
Updated: Jan 13
Client- Heidi and Dana Croatt: Maple Grove, MN
As the project progressed Dana and Heidi realized they didn’t want to go 90% of the way on their main floor and not have it finished. So we decided to add in dining room furniture and staging, living room furniture and staging, built-ins, and entry flooring/doors/trim to the scope. It had be very budget friendly since it wasn’t planned for.
I set out to find great finds without sacrificing the mission- to make this space their dream! I hit up a lot of sales and then with my trade discounts got some amazing deals!
I knew I wanted to play off of the gold we had discussed for fixture finish and the gray/green/blue of the island and they love navy, so I built off of navy and yellow. I also wanted to bring in leather in a medium brown/orange tone to have different textures and also durability for a young family.
I found the majority of our items through Wayfair, West Elm, and Joybird. Like a lot of clients they loved one, but wanted to swap out a pillow or take an item from one design and use in the one they liked. Easy enough!
Sometimes clients get so hung up on the boards that they think what’s on the boards is final... you can’t add/delete/edit, but they are just the starting point of which we build the perfect design. Think of everything in YOUR living room... could it fit all in one board? Once we got it right we ordered and collected for the day the remodel was over and the space was ready to furnish and stage!
Below you can see what I had proposed...
Tomorrow I’ll reveal the final finished project and the Client Interview!!
