Modern Farmhouse Basement- Shaw part 1
Referred by Nick of Tschida Construction, I met John and Julia to go over the plans to finish their unfinished basement. They had built their home in Chaska, MN only a couple years earlier and were excited for the potential the unfinished lower level had.
They admitted they didn’t love their initial selections in the main floor and wanted to transition to the style they wanted their home to be, starting with the new basement space.
We talked layout, solution for the metal support pillars, guest bedroom size, the needs, and wants, and the wishes.
Their two daughters were getting older and the need for large toy storage was slowly becoming less necessary, so we got real about what will stay down here, how we’ll store it, and how all the member of the family could enjoy the future space!
- guest bedroom
- closed off storage space
- entertaining area such as a bar
- space for exercising
- modern farmhouse feel
- hide ugly metal support poles
- connect upstairs to basement somehow
- french door instead of slider
- new furniture for new space
- barn door somewhere
- under stair wine storage
- possible fireplace
