Modern Farmhouse Main Floor- Shaw part 4

Imagine having your house invaded by numerous contractors and sub contractors to finish your entire basement. Now, add in an ice dam that creates water leaking into your dining room and living room.

We took that misfortune and decided that instead of putting the same floor that was originally there back down, we would install the downstairs luxury vinyl plank that they fell in love with. So we made lemonade out of lemons!

We then decided to replace the backsplash Julia never really liked anyway and change out the hardware. That of course lead to new barstools.

Then we decided that the main floor had to be as awesome as the basement that was just wrapping up!

For the entry we got a new light and rug and it was the perfect first impression.

For the living room, I had originally pitched to carry the shiplap up the stairs on one wall and then into the living room on that same wall to connect the two levels. We had planned for that to be phase two, but John and Julia chose to just go all in.

I got straight down to business on design boards. For the big items we chose a custom sectional from Interior Define, a coffee table from Article, modern bookcase from Crate and Barrel and side chairs from West Elm.

We finished off the styling with a round mirror, poufs, and throw pillows from Wayfair, rug and side tables from West Elm, throw pillows from Pottery Barn, and styling items from Pier 1.

Overall, I am so proud of how we made the basement space their true style and rose to the challenge of connecting the main floor and the basement.

John's parents were starting a new build in Estero, Florida and when Ann contacted me to help I was elated! They loved what I had done with their son and daughter in law and we did E-Design to start furnishing their winter home.

John and Julia were the ideal client and will be honored if they ever call upon my services!

Thank you for joining in and reading! I hope you got an insight into what we do, who we work with, the reality behind making old spaces new, and how awesome are clients are!
