NEED TO GET CAUGHT UP??
Living Room- fireplace tiled post occupancy
Michael Jordan inspired boys bedroom
Client- Miranda Smith: Portland, OR to Denver, CO
So this is a long time coming (Part 6!!)! Building a house simultaneously takes forever and speeds by, at the same time.
Working via FaceTime, text, and too many phone calls to count, I worked with Miranda to co-project manage to ensure the house turned out exactly like we planned, wanted, (and Miranda paid for).
There were definitely times I wish I could hop the next flight and handle things. One being the kitchen back splash tile. They set the exact same giant pieces next to each other in the same orientation. No way was that staying like that! Since Miranda has basically the same personality/mentality as I do I told her what to say and she handled it.
Building your best friends dream house with her is a dream come true. I am so proud of how hard she works, the amazing (single) mother she is, and her evolution of design style. Due to the pandemic I was not able to fly out as scheduled to help furnish/style/stage in person... but don’t think for one second we aren’t getting it done🤣
F U R N I S H I N G:
A house is a structure used for shelter... but a HOME is where you make memories, kiss scrapes, snuggle past bedtime, enjoy home cooked (or takeout) meals , and buildtrain tracks!
L I G H T I N G:
Lighting is one of my passions (and strengths) as an Interior Designer... so looking at our lighting choices, we knew we would be replacing some after taking possession. Four areas were the powder bathroom, dining room table, foyer, and kitchen island.
