NEW PID INTERN
- Interior Designer Newbie | Pinnacle Interior Design
Hi, I'm Libby!
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Libby DeJong! I'm a new face to PID. Currently, I'm a student at Century College, studying Interior Design, and will be getting my associate degree this spring. One of the requirements for my schooling was to complete an interior design internship so here I am!
I am so glad that I picked PID to be apart of, so far I have loved every second of it! Not only am I getting to see what it is like to be in the field, but I am also learning what it takes to run an Interior Design business.
One of my family friends asked me if I was looking for a design internship and I said yes! She gave me Jeanna's number and told me a little bit about her, and I immediately contacted her. The conversation we had got me so excited and made me want to start right away!
Here's a little glimpse into one of the projects that I did in design school...

How I chose interior design...
In high school, I always loved to create things whether it was in videography class, or in my art classes. So I knew that I wanted to get into some type of design. I finally chose interior design because I love the idea of turning a not so great space into something so amazing and that is more functional for the homeowner.
I am who I am today due to all of my amazing friends and family who have supported me throughout the years.
My parents always taught me that not everything in life you can control, but you can always control your attitude and your effort. Always having a good attitude and giving 110% will always get you somewhere.
My brother, Josh, my forever friend.
My boyfriend, Kamron, showing me endless love, and always encouraging me to be the best I can be.
My wonderful friends (lots more not in that photo), showing me so much kindness and genuine friendships.
The people in my life have had such a great impact on me, and I am so grateful for every one of them.

-What is it like working with Jeanna?
It has been the best experience ever! I've learned so much already, and it has only been a few weeks. I seriously can't express how thankful I am to have gotten this opportunity. My teachers always say that when you get into the design world you will learn so much more than what you've learned in school. I think this statement is 100% true. Yes, schooling is extremely beneficial but at the end of the day, the experience of actually doing is so much more important.
Something that I love about both Jeanna and Hailey is they are both so willing to take me in and help me learn different things. Whether it's teaching me how to make a blog post ;) or showing me what it takes to become a business owner.
So far, I have gotten to be on a few projects, help with AutoCAD designs, pick out samples, help pick out the paint in different homes, and so much more!!
Thanks for letting me share a little bit about myself! I am very excited to see where this next step takes me, and I can't wait to help more people transform their spaces!
Thank you for joining in and reading! I hope you got an insight into what we do, who we work with, the reality behind making old spaces new, and how awesome our clients are!
