Volunteer Opportunity- Richardson Elementary Teachers Lounge part 2
Missed Part 1??? CLICK HERE|PART 1
PID’S FIRST PHILANTHROPY PROJECT!
When I pulled up to Richardson Elementary I was surprised by how new the renovation made it look. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and waited to meet Melissa, the teacher who reached out to me.
On the way down to the teachers lounge I got a quick tour and immediately saw how she was right!!!
These hard working teachers had a less than desirable lounge that needed saving!
I got pictures and saw why some teachers avoided it. I began to envision how with just a little help, that could change.
We went back to Melissa’s room and talked timeline, needs/wants/wishes, and made a game plan for me to create design boards for principal and then superintendent approval.
OPTION 1
In option 1 I wanted to give a Scandinavian feel with a touch of modern farmhouse. I wanted blue, a very soothing color to be a pop in the space featured in the rugs and art.
OPTION 2
In Option 2 I wanted to have a modern coastal theme, but not the usual blue accent. I had already had blue in option one so I went with green, but implemented in the organic form of plants.
And the survey says...
Melissa surveyed the teachers so they can all be a part of the transformation if they wanted to! It was close, but we are implementing Option 1!
Stay tuned for part 3 where I feature the soon to be install!
